How the score is calculated, openly
Most free SEO tools hide their formula, and some show deliberately scary numbers to push you into a sales call. We do the opposite, because this tool is how you judge whether we are worth talking to. So here is exactly how it works:
- Simple, open maths. There are 27 checks. Each one scores 4 points for a pass, 2 for a warning and 0 for a fail, and the total is converted to a percentage. 100 means a clean sweep. No hidden weighting, no secret penalties.
- Verify us against Google, on the spot. The same results page runs Google PageSpeed Insights and shows all four of Google's own scores (Performance, Accessibility, Best Practices, SEO) right next to ours, in the same red, orange and green scale Google uses. You never have to take our number on faith; the industry standard is on the same screen.
- We benchmark it against the standard. We routinely run well-known public sites (Wikipedia, for example) through this checker and through Google Lighthouse, and the two stay within a few points of each other on normal HTML sites. If you ever see a wild disagreement, tell us and we will investigate it publicly.
- Known limits, stated plainly. Sites that build their pages entirely with JavaScript can score lower here than they deserve, because this quick check reads raw HTML the way a crawler's first pass does. When we detect that, the result says so honestly, and the Google scores on the same page (which render the site in a real browser) are the fairer measure.
A good site gets a good score here, including sites that will never become our clients. That is the point: an audit you can trust is worth more to us than a scare tactic.
