BIS Hallmark Verification, Verify Gold Purity in 30 Seconds

Quick Answer: Scan the HUID (6-digit code on gold) on BIS Care app (Android/iOS) to instantly verify gold purity, jeweller name, and hallmarking centre. Mandatory HUID hallmarking was implemented in 2021, any pre-2021 piece may not have HUID.

BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) hallmarking certifies that gold meets the declared purity standard. HUID (Hallmark Unique ID) is a 6-character alphanumeric code laser-engraved on each piece since 2021. It links to BIS database with: purity, weight, jeweller, assaying centre, and date.
How to Verify BIS Hallmark:
  1. Download BIS Care app from Play Store / App Store
  2. Tap "Verify HUID"
  3. Enter the 6-character HUID printed on jewellery
  4. App shows: purity grade, jeweller name, assaying centre, date hallmarked
  5. If HUID not found, do not buy, report to BIS helpline 1800-11-4343
