Claude Fable 5 is here: 1M context, top coding scores, and what it means for your business

By Apex Influence | Published 16 June 2026 | 4 min read

The short version: Anthropic released Claude Fable 5 on 9 June 2026. The company says it beats every model it has shipped so far, reads up to a million tokens at once (a few thousand pages), handles text, images and files, and can work on its own for longer. For a business, that means one assistant can now read your whole knowledge base and act on it, not just chat.

Anthropic, the company behind Claude, has launched its new flagship model, Claude Fable 5. If you only read one line: it is the strongest general model Anthropic has put out, and it is available now through the Claude API and the major cloud platforms (AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex AI, and Microsoft Foundry). Below is what changed and, more importantly, what you can do with it.

What is new in Claude Fable 5

Three things stand out, and you do not need to be technical to understand any of them.

On coding specifically, Anthropic reports about 80 percent on SWE-Bench Pro, a test that asks a model to fix real software issues from public GitHub projects. That is among the highest scores reported anywhere, and it is why software teams are paying close attention.

Fable 5 and Mythos 5: same model, two doors

You may also see the name Claude Mythos 5. It is the same model with the same weights, sold as a second product. The difference is the safety layer. Fable 5 keeps conservative guardrails for everyday use. Mythos 5 relaxes some limits in sensitive areas such as cybersecurity and is offered only to a small group of trusted partners. For almost every business, Fable 5 is the one you will use.

What it means for an Indian business

The headline is not the benchmark number. It is that a single assistant can now read everything you know and act on it. A few practical examples:

Our advice is the same as always: do not try to "do AI" everywhere at once. Pick one repetitive, time-eating task, point the model at it, measure the hours you get back, then expand. That is how the saving becomes real instead of a novelty.

The bigger picture

Models like Fable 5 keep getting better, cheaper, and more capable of acting on their own. The businesses that win are not the ones that read every release. They are the ones that put one or two of these tools to work and stick with it. And as more of your customers start asking an AI for recommendations instead of searching, there is a second job to do: making sure your business is the one the AI names. That is AI SEO, and it is becoming as important as ranking on Google.

Frequently asked questions

What is Claude Fable 5?

It is Anthropic's newest top-tier AI model, released in June 2026. Anthropic says it leads almost every benchmark it tested, handles text, images and files, runs a 1 million token context window for very large documents, and can work on its own for longer than earlier Claude models.

What is the difference between Fable 5 and Mythos 5?

They are the same underlying model with the same weights, sold as two products. Fable 5 ships with conservative safety guardrails for general use. Mythos 5 relaxes some restrictions in sensitive areas such as cybersecurity and is reserved for a small set of trusted partners.

What is a 1 million token context window?

It is how much text the model can read at once, roughly a few thousand pages. It means you can hand over a full contract set, a year of chats, or an entire codebase and ask questions across all of it in one go.

Is it good for coding?

Yes. On SWE-Bench Pro, which asks a model to solve real software tasks from public GitHub projects, Anthropic reports a score around 80 percent, among the strongest reported by any model.

How can my business use it?

Drafting and summarising documents, answering customer questions from your own knowledge base, replying to leads, analysing spreadsheets, and assisting developers. Start with one task, measure the time saved, then expand.
